Cons Worn At: Anime Boston 2010

Comments: Somehow we completed these in 3 months before Anime Boston 2010. I don't know what we were thinking when we decided to do these cosplays. They're extremely uncomfortable and heavy with little vision... plus we made them in a ridiculously short period of 3 months considering the hundreds of hours that went into making these. I think we both went on stage with probably 5% total vision. These cosplays were truly an adventure to make, but we did learn a lot from making them! We used a lot of sintra and craft foam for the base arms and legs, and we hand molded and shaped each piece. The main bodies are made of hand tooled leather by engraving each little detail with tiny tools [hard to see the more intricate details here]. Our wings are made with sintra and paperclay, and they can move with levers. The giant shaman girl arm is made with a sintra and wire frame covered with various clays and paperclays. The shaman girl's eyes, blue pieces on Zalera's arm and Adrammelech's eyes glow, and our helmets make "summon" sounds! Specifically, Zalera makes his cackle when he's summoned, while Adrammelech makes a growling sound. Our jaws also move when we talk!
